Intimate Wedding Series // Stephanie & Tyler's Relaxed Urban Affair at the Broadview Hotel
Intimate weddings have quickly become my absolute favourite. Under 50 guests, thanks to COVID usually planned within very short timelines and big on details, these celebrations are definitely here to stay. Some couples decided to modify their original plans and celebrated on a smaller scale, others always envisioned an intimate wedding. For the next few weeks I’m excited to dive deeper into some of the recent Pastiche intimate weddings & show you how each couple was able to celebrate beautifully & intentionally in a variety of seasons, locations & styles.
In a season of uncertainty, Stephanie & Tyler were a welcome addition to the Pastiche family with their calm attitude, quick decision-making and commitment to a charming celebration with 23 of their closest family and friends.
S & T wanted something chic and in season, a bit of romance mixed in with the urban setting of the historic Broadview Hotel, and most of all, intentional and true to who they are as a couple.
Since they always wanted a small wedding, the on and off COVID restrictions pushed them to go ahead and make it official. Working quickly, we booked the Broadview Hotel and I put together a “micro-wedding” team to bring S & T’s vision to life in four short weeks.
With a guest list of 25 we were able to design a gorgeous two table set-up on the Lincoln Hall terrace so that guests could celebrate in the fresh air while taking in the historic hotel details & iconic Toronto views.
Bellwood Blooms nailed the vision for an elevated, summer to fall transitional design, featuring lots of neutral, ivory, champagne, rust & warm accents. Quicksand Roses, dahlias, cappuccino roses, ranunculus & anemones were the stars of the show in the iconic deconstructed asymmetrical ceremony arch & table centrepieces.
As with all things, we always try to suggest the most valuable ways to use all of your wedding elements, and when it comes to florals, the more repurposing we can do, the less waste and more enjoyment for you and your guests! Following the indoor ceremony, we quickly transferred the arch to the terrace to sit behind the couple for another statement moment. In cases like this, we like to secure all the elements to make sure wind and guest movement around the tables doesn’t create a hazardous situation.
Food & connection were the most important elements for S & T, so with the Broadview’s impeccable menu and all of our intentional details, our couple was able to enjoy a laid back, yet elevated celebration with their loved ones. Slow paced, featuring only a first dance and casual toasts throughout dinner, this intimate celebration had exactly what they wanted and nothing that they didn’t.
That’s the heart of every Pastiche wedding — forget the “rules”, I want you to know that you can have any kind of celebration that YOU want. Don’t want to do a first look? Don’t want to have speeches? Want to get creative with custom cocktails even if it’s a small party? Do what makes you happy. After all, this is a celebration of you, for you. After everything we’ve gone through in the last 2+ years, I think we’ve all gained a lot more clarity about what’s most important to us and how exactly we want to celebrate the big moments in our lives. Trust your intuition. And when you need a little help, I’m here to help you envision & create a celebration worthy of your unique story.
