The First Official Pastiche Branding Photos are Here!
Happy Monday!
Lots of amazing things in the works over here at Pastiche and I’m very excited to share them all with you soon!
In the meantime, I wanted to dedicate a post to my recent branding photoshoot experience with the amazing Brittany Williams. I met Brittany while working together on a beautiful, rustic romantic wedding in Newmarket last fall and just jived so well with our approach to timelines and getting things done. She’s amazing to hang out with and is also renovating her home so we always have lots to chat about and never enough time!
I approached Brittany with a mood board for some branding photos I wanted to get done. I am in the middle of a brand building exercise and will share more on that later, but I really felt like I needed better photos of myself and visuals of my style and work to use as I work on the bigger aspects of messaging, design, marketing etc. Pastiche is all about being a unique and authentic combination of other artists’ work to give our clients the best possible event or wedding experience possible. I planned this shoot in the same way, hoping to showcase the style, personality, inspiration and approachability of the brand.
We chose to shoot at Mint Room Studios (hello natural light!) and I prepared 3 outfits and lots of props to shoot with. Now I learned my lesson: always book more than one hour for something like this! We shot in the Loft and being one of their most popular spaces, it had back-to-back booking and getting all of my outfits changed and props set up just took way too long. With that said, I could not believe how every. single. shot turned out amazing. Brittany was able to capture things that we didn’t even plan on and it just fit so perfectly into the story I’m hoping to tell. She made me feel so comfortable and helped me find exactly what worked best in each scenario.
Pastiche was always going to be more than a side project for me and I’m very proud of dedicating myself seriously to seeing where I can take it. It’s been 6 months now since I’ve taken it full time and this was such a worthwhile and important investment for me to be able to start to refine my brand and define what I hope Pastiche will represent in this industry.
Question to my fellow planners/vendors in the wedding industry: have you had a branding shoot? What was your experience like? Have questions about going through a branding exercise in general? Give me a shout! I’m always free to drink strong coffee out of cute mugs!
Stay tuned for more on the Pastiche branding journey!
